Launching in March 2025 at White Pines Intermediate School in Grand Haven, MI, this innovative program combines Camp Blodgett's expertise in leadership and community building with The Epicenter's process of self-reflection and creative self-expression. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Camp Blodgett and the Grand Haven Area Public Schools again and we are excited to serve new students through this grant.
]]><![CDATA[A Mural for Orchards Children's Services]]>Tue, 12 Nov 2024 17:14:49 GMThttps://www.be-the-epicenter.org/news/a-mural-for-orchards-childrens-servicesThe Epicenter had the wonderful privilege of deepening our creative partnership with Orchards Children's Services, this time in the creation of a mural for their family visitation area. Orchards is the largest provider of services to foster children in the state of Michigan and we love every chance we get to work with them. The family visitation area is a space where families come together to reconnect, rebuild, and create meaningful moments together. Given the nature of the space, we wanted a design that would be trauma informed, lighthearted, fun, and ultimately meaningful. We chose a dancing rainbow because we feel it is nature's way of expressing the endlessly playful, fantastically whimsical, abundantly beautiful, and forever free feeling that comes with expressing your authentic self. 

Thank you Orchards for serving the children that you do. We hope the rainbow plays a small role in enriching the lives of your families!

The Creative Collective will be open every night from 6-9pm. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday nights are for people under 18; Wednesday nights are for families; Thursday nights are for adults only. We're so grateful to Central Park Place for hosting us! If you're in the area, stop by and check it out.

Open to all ages, this free event features two creating tables - one for painting and one for building / sculpting - a fire tube demonstration, photo portraits, LED light portraits, and a sound meditation. Cafe Tamaki will be there in person sharing the art of tea.
