Class Description
Did you know that it's possible to see sound? In our "Sounds Like..." workshop we'll explore different ways of seeing and creating sound, from sound waves in water, to dancing grains of sand, to creating art that reflects sound.
Students will first be introduced to the ideas of sound waves and vibrational patterns (Day 1). After exploring different patterns, students will be asked to choose their favorite, which they will then use as the basis for creating a design (Day 2). Students will then work with instructors to bring their design to life using the laser cutting machine (Day 3). They will then be given an opportunity to decorate their designs to best reflect the sound they chose (Day 4).
All work will be displayed at Idea Fab Labs on First Friday in June. The class will be limited to 10 students.
